Healthy Pleasures: ACV Cocktails
Life is all about balance, right? The naughty and the nice? Well, these cocktails embody the best of both worlds, blending cheeky fun with the myriad health benefits of ACV. What better way to sneak in those extra probiotics than with a little bit of bourbon?
Warm Rum Cider (Vinegar)
This serves approximately 5 people and is designed to be served up in a fabulous punch bowl.
You'll need:
- 4 cups apple cider
- 2 tbsp ACV
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1/2 large orange, peeled and divided into segments
- 1 tsp cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 cup dark rum
Method:
- Heat the ACV, maple syrup, cloves and cinnamon sticks in a large saucepan
- Add the cider and orange
- Bring to the boil, then simmer for 5 minutes
- Remove from the heat and stir in the rum!
Bloody ACV
You'll need:
- 2 tbsp ACV
- 60ml vodka
- 120ml tomato juice
- 1 heaped tbsp tabasco
- 1 heaped tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1-2 tsp horseradish
- juice of 1/2 lime
- salt and pepper to taste
Method:
- Combine all the ingredients and give it a good stir
- Garnish with a lime wedge, celery stick, pickle and whatever else catches your fancy!
ACB (Apple Cider Bourbon)
You'll need:
- 60ml bourbon
- 30ml maple syrup or honey
- 7ml ACV
- 1 piece crystallised ginger (garnish)
Method:
- Add all ingredients to a shaker full of ice
- Shake until chilled and strain into a glass, over fresh ice
ACV Mule
You'll need:
- 1/2 shot lime juice combined with 3 shots of ginger beer
- 1tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp ACV
- 1 shot tequila
Method:
- Add it all together, give it a little shake and pour over ice
Sweet n' Sour
You'll need:
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp ACV
- 1 shot tequila
Method:
